Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated 2nd Shift Safety Coordinator to lead our workplace safety initiatives during evening hours. Duties
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards to ensure compliance across all manufacturing processes.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and environmental audits to identify risks and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques; prepare detailed reports to inform prevention strategies.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, including first aid and CPR training for employees, ensuring readiness for any incident.
- Manage hazardous materials regulations compliance, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous substances.
- Facilitate safety training sessions focused on workplace safety, environmental health, OSHA standards, and workers' compensation law to enhance employee awareness and skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation of safety activities, incident reports, inspection records, and regulatory compliance records for internal review and external audits.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and environmental management systems.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, OSHA safety standards, hazardous materials handling, and environmental compliance are highly preferred.
- Knowledge of workers’ compensation law and legal requirements related to workplace safety is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and report writing for incident investigations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train employees effectively on safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with environmental health standards and occupational health best practices within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work independently during evening shifts while collaborating effectively with day-shift teams when needed.
