Career Opportunity: Executive Director
Summary
Harmony Health Clinic is searching for an Executive Director to join the Harmony Health Clinic team. The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the clinic and exercises day-to-day general management of the business and affairs of the clinic. The Executive Director acts to represent the Board of Directors relative to the functions of the clinic, and in all the matters where the Board has not formally appointed someone to represent their interests for specific purposes. The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of a free health care clinic including dental, medical,
laboratory, and pharmacy services. The Executive Director is a full-time position with 40 hours per week and reports directly to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director manages all personnel and collaborates with members of the Board of Directors and volunteers. All clinic personnel report directly or indirectly to the Executive Director.

Preferred start date September 1, 2026. Salary up to $65,000 per year depending on experience.
Job Description/Key Responsibilities
1. Organizational Development
- Champions the interests of all stakeholders – employees, patients, volunteers, donors, and the community – in a balanced manner focused on the quality of the clinic’s services, good stewardship and efficient use of resources, preservation of the community’s trust, and fair and equitable treatment of all clinic staff
- Works with the President and Board Committees, and select project members
- Provides management of the clinic overall, including day-to-day operations clinical operations for dental, medical, laboratory, and pharmacy services; hiring and firing of personnel; and personnel management
- Develops and implements changes to the clinic’s services and administrative operations; works with professional and lay volunteers to implement change
- Ensures organizational compliance with Board policies and bylaws, our mission statement, the articles of incorporation, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Provides executive management of the clinic’s technology
- Works with others to deliver training and development for staff, Board, and committee members
- Attends and participates in regular Board and Committee meetings
2. Business Management and Clinic Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall direction and management of the clinic’s business, including financial viability and sustainability
- Works with clinic personnel and Board members to produce an annual budget for income, capital expenditures, and operational expenses
- Responsible for reviewing all expenditure requests vs. budget and approving those that are within the Executive Director’s approval authority limit as set by the Board
- Ensures that the clinic is fiscally accountable; works with the Bookkeeper and Treasurer of the Board to ensure that all financial obligations are met and all required financial audits/reporting are done
- Ensure the clinic is meeting all applicable regulatory requirements
- Manages the planning and usage of the clinic’s physical facilities
- Oversees any contract development, working with the Board and legal representation as needed
- Oversees the development and implementation of a systematic and uniform approach to data collection and management across all clinics, including the unique patients, number of patient visits, volunteer numbers, volunteer hours, patient demographics, value of services provided, and other data and metrics as needed
- Directly manages weekly clinics, including preparation of clinic and ensuring all supplies, equipment, and tools are ready for providers
- Responds quickly and efficiently to patient and provider needs and inquires
- Works with Patient Navigator to ensure proper scheduling and follow-up of patients
- Works with Patient Navigator to resolve patient complaints and issues in accordance with organization policies and procedures, regulations, and applicable board standards
- Works with Patient Navigator to coordinate specialists and other referrals, as needed
3. Personnel Management
- Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, firing, supervision, and management of all staff contractors
- Responsible for ensuring that all organizational policies are communicated and understood, properly interpreted, and administered; takes appropriate steps to correct unsatisfactory conditions
- Maintains personnel policies and ensures their enforcement
- Maintains employee personnel files and other confidential information
- Directly manages all clinic personnel; ensures management of all client personnel.
- Maintain patient confidentiality; ensure all clinics are in compliance and operating in accordance
- with all licensure requirements, HIPPA requirements, organization policies, laws, rules, and
- regulations
- ● Ensure proper staff and volunteer training, ongoing education, certification, and licensure
- ● Works with Development Director to recruit and retain clinical volunteers4. Public Awareness/Clinic Representation
- Represents the clinic as a key spokesperson to the community at large, including news media and governmental agencies
- Works with personnel and the Board to ensure that the clinic has an effective PR program
- Represents the clinic and develops ongoing relationships with other organizations whose functions are similar to our own, and with professional/organizational associations in our business
Qualifications
- ● Minimum three to five years nonprofit management experience
- ● Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Social Work/Management and Community
- Practice, Public Service, or related field preferred
- ● Experience in clinical management
- ● Extremely detail-oriented
- ● Ability to manage others, create workplans, set goals, and monitor results
- ● Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
- ● Ability to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions
- ● Ability to relate well with people from diverse groups and backgrounds
- ● Solid relationship management skills; demonstrates experience and excellent interpersonal skills

- ● Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and articulately both orally and

- ● Valid driver’s license required
- ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite necessary (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- ● Experience with Office 365 and Google Drive preferred
- ● Computer literacy with data management software such as donor CRM (Customer Relationship
- Management) Donor Perfect, Blackbaud/eTapestry, Razor’s Edge, or Salsa preferred
- ● Experience preferred in electronic medical records or similar programs such as: EagleSoft,
- Agastha, PioneerRX, or other patient and clinic management programs
