Restoration Technician – Water & Fire Damage Restoration

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Restoration Technician to join our growing team in the Johnson City area. This position is responsible for responding to residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, and storm damage. Technicians perform emergency mitigation, cleanup, demolition, drying, and restoration services while providing excellent customer service during stressful situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency water, fire, smoke, and mold damage calls.
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, and moisture monitoring.
- Set up and operate restoration equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and moisture meters.
- Remove damaged building materials such as drywall, flooring, insulation, and carpet.
- Clean, sanitize, deodorize, and restore affected structures and contents.
- Perform fire and smoke damage cleanup and odor removal.
- Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Document job progress with photos, moisture readings, and daily reports.
- Communicate professionally with customers, insurance representatives, and team members.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and work in physically demanding environments.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs as needed.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
- Restoration, construction, demolition, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, AMRT) are a plus or willingness to obtain them after hire.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required.
