Internal Position Title: "Blister Technician"
This Packaging Operator will specialize and be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining blister packaging equipment used in the production of nutraceutical products. This position is expected to demonstrate advanced proficiency in blister operations while also performing and supporting all Packaging Operator responsibilities, including basic equipment operation, material handling, and adherence to standard work procedures. This role ensures that products are packaged efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food industries.
- Set up, operate, and monitor blister packaging machines for tablets, capsules, and softgels
- Perform line clearance, changeovers, and equipment adjustments to meet production requirements
- Inspect packaging materials (e.g., foil, PVC, cartons) to ensure quality standards are met
- Monitor product quality throughout the packaging process and perform in-process checks
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor mechanical adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and logbooks
- Adhere to GMP, SOPs, safety policies, and company procedures at all times
- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas to meet compliance standards
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance teams to resolve deviations or equipment concerns
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Train or assist less experienced technicians as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating blister packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment (nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food production preferred)
- Strong understanding of GMP and FDA-regulated environments
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and follow batch records, SOPs, and production instructions
- Familiarity with packaging materials and quality inspection processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing/production setting with exposure to machinery and moderate noise levels
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–55 lbs as needed
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
- May require shift work, including weekends or overtime
Preferred Experience
- Experience in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical packaging environments
- Knowledge of automated blister packaging systems (e.g., thermoforming, cold forming)
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
