General Purpose
To carry out routine assignments and related operations for Aedes aegypti control as directed by supervisors.
Aedes aegypti Surveillance & Public Outreach Responsibilities
· Engage with the public while participating in Aedes aegypti surveillance and education activities, including trapping, service requests, data collection, and sample collections
· Learn Aedesaegypti identification, survey techniques, and data recording procedures
· Maintain accurate mapping and tracking of Aedesaegypti detections. Keep accurate inspection and treatment records of work performed
· Coordinate with Administration in response to Service Requests in a prompt and thorough manner
· As needed, participate in educational presentations, workshops, and outreach events for schools, community groups, and public agencies
Main Inspection & Treatment Responsibilities
· Inspect and make appropriate treatments of designated mosquito breeding locations as directed
· Be aware of typical sources in residential areas
· Perform source reduction when necessary
· Make trap collections as necessary
· Keep accurate inspection and treatment records of work performed in GIS system
Other Duties
· Maintain assigned equipment and vehicle in a clean and professional appearance, report deficiencies in equipment or vehicle to Supervisor or Administration
· Keep District buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly condition
· Do 'housekeeping' and perform simple building and equipment repairs as instructed
· Assist in receiving and maintaining stock inventories
· Attend all required training sessions
Education and Experience
· Education equivalent to high school diploma (appropriate work experience which will develop a level of achievement and literacy equivalent to a high school education may be substituted for the required education)
· Should have or be trained to have a working knowledge and understanding of:
o Proper safety precautions and use of insecticides being used by the District
o Mosquito developmental time under prevailing temperatures
o Mosquito larval habitats
o Proper application techniques of mosquito larval treatments
o Proper use of surveillance equipment

· Must be physically able and willing to do heavy physical labor when necessary
· A valid Motor Vehicle Operators License with a good driving record
· A Non-commercial Pesticide Applicators License in the Public Health Category from the Utah State Department of Agriculture may be required
o If required, you must schedule to take the test within 1 month of being hired.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
