In this purpose-driven role, you will:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – RN/LVN plays a vital leadership role within the skilled nursing facility by supporting daily clinical operations, resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing, Administrator, interdisciplinary team, residents, families, and frontline nursing staff to help ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Director of Nursing with planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Support clinical leadership by promoting quality resident care, regulatory readiness, and a positive nursing department culture.
- Coordinate nursing services with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, residents, and families to support continuity of care.
- Assess staffing needs and assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing nursing staff.
- Help create staff schedules and assignments to ensure appropriate coverage across all shifts.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, guidance, and support to promote safe and effective care delivery.
- Support daily facility start-up and assist with monitoring the nursing department’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee and other interdisciplinary meetings to support clinical excellence.
- Review clinical records, audits, consultant reports, and compliance reports to help identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with developing and implementing corrective action plans as needed.
- Provide support with MDS assessments, care planning, and clinical documentation as needed.
- Participate in the facility’s on-call rotation and perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
Requirements:
- Active RN or LVN license in the state of Texas in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or related healthcare setting preferred.
- Prior nursing leadership, supervisory, or charge nurse experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, resident care standards, and clinical documentation.
- Ability to lead, coach, and support nursing staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
