Basic Function
Now is your chance to join our talented team to further the mission of the Financial Enforcement Section and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General (OAG). The Financial Enforcement Section collects delinquent debt and other obligations owed to the Commonwealth and its agencies in both state court and federal bankruptcy courts. While the core function of the Financial Enforcement Section involves collection and recovery of debts owed to the Commonwealth, the practice is broader in scope. Attorneys in this role routinely engage with a wide range of legal disciplines to advance and safeguard the Commonwealth’s interests.
As a Deputy Attorney General, this position will involve all phases of civil litigation from the initiation of legal proceedings through posttrial motions. Responsibilities include representing the Office of Attorney General, the Commonwealth, and its agencies in both Pennsylvania state courts and federal bankruptcy courts.
The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys and professionals within the OAG and Commonwealth agencies. Applicants should possess strong writing and oral communication skills, negotiation skills, and the organizational skills necessary to manage multiple cases addressing a broad variety of issues simultaneously. As a Deputy Attorney General I or II gains experience, more complex work is assigned and is performed with more independence.
