Summary
We are seeking a Referral & Records Specialist to join our team at Plastic + Hand Surgical Associates. This role is essential in managing the intake and referrals for our new patients, as well as ensuring our referring practices receive records in return. Your contributions will help us maintain our commitment to high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Review & distribute incoming faxes
- Create new patient accounts
- Verify appropriate records, demographics and insurance is received
- Manage insurance referrals
- Manage Medical Records requests
- Fax visit and surgical information back to referring providers
- Update referring physicians about upcoming patient appointments
- Manage phone calls with referring provider offices and patients as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledge of commercial and government insurance companies
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in office software applications.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
