Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced, detail - oriented Remote Medical Biller. Retina/ Ophthalmology billing is strictly required. You will manage the full revenue cycle high- volume retina procedures from the comfort of your home. Your expertise will ensure accurate claim submissions, timely reimbursements, and seamless communication with insurance providers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit clean claims for retina- specific procedures and drugs.
- Manage complex modifiers and global surgical periods.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies and healthcare claims management.
- Appeal denied claims within the insurance time frame guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies or inquiries.
- Keep up-to-date with industry changes related to DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), medical coding updates, and health insurance policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of direct Retina or Ophthalmology billing experience.
- Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems.
- Ability to work 100% independently via remote.
- High- speed internet and a dedicated HIPPA compliant home office.
- Proficiency in billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with health insurance policies, patient account management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving industry regulations and maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Certified Professional Coder ( CPC) or Certified Professional Biller 9 CPB) preferred.
