Job Summary:
Sheely Contractors is seeking an experienced Commercial/Federal Drywall Finisher to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial drywall finishing, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and experience working from stilts to finish walls and ceilings safely and efficiently. This position may involve work on military installations and secure government facilities. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain base access and comply with all security requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Finish drywall to Level 4 and Level 5 standards on commercial and federal construction projects.
- Tape, mud, sand, and apply finishing compounds to drywall surfaces.
- Repair and patch drywall defects, damaged surfaces, and punch-list items.
- Operate drywall finishing tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks while maintaining quality and production expectations.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and finish schedules.
- Perform texture matching and specialty finishes when required.
- Safely work from stilts, ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Coordinate with project supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules and deadlines.
- Conduct work in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Identify and communicate project issues, material needs, or quality concerns to management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of commercial/federal drywall finishing experience.
- Demonstrated experience finishing large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working on stilts and elevated work platforms.
- Strong understanding of drywall finishing techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to achieve high-quality finishes while maintaining productivity.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to read work instructions, plans, and specifications.
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
