Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter/Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting, along with experience in various construction tasks. This role requires a keen eye for detail, knowledge of color theory, and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. The Painter/Laborer will be responsible for executing painting projects, performing maintenance tasks, and assisting with renovations.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed.
- Apply paint using various techniques including airless paint spraying and brush/roller methods.
- Perform plastering, caulking, and trim carpentry to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Assist with fixture installation and restoration projects as required.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during painting and construction tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on renovation projects, ensuring timely completion of work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
- Provide basic maintenance support including concrete finishing, masonry work, and maintenance person tasks.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and basic math skills for project calculations.
- Experience with renovation projects including remodeling and restoration work.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely; welding experience is a plus.
- Understanding of construction site protocols and safety regulations.
- Prior experience in carpentry (frame carpentry, trim carpentry) is highly desirable.
