Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Coordinator to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will oversee the efficient movement of goods, manage shipping and receiving processes, and ensure accurate order fulfillment. This role requires strong familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory management systems, and equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks. The Shipping Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution and supporting e-commerce order processing.
Duties
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks
- Manage shipping and receiving documentation through Warehouse Management System (WMS) and AS400 platforms
- Prepare orders for shipment by picking, packing, and labeling items accurately
- Utilize RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking
- Ensure proper stock levels through stocking, order fulfillment, and inventory management
- Assist with warehouse distribution tasks including load planning and pallet organization
- Maintain safety standards during all warehouse activities, including the use of equipment like reach trucks and MRPs
- Support e-commerce order processing by ensuring timely shipment of online orders
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations using basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or distribution preferred
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS400, RF scanners, and MRP systems
- Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking, packing, and inventory control
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and weights
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and equipment operation
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in all tasks
