Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, windows, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure proper sanitation without risk to yourself or others.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or cleaning equipment.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by disinfecting surfaces and waste disposal areas regularly.
- Operate custodial equipment including floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, mops, and other cleaning tools efficiently and safely.
- Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks such as painting touch-ups or light repairs as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to facility needs and ensuring spaces are clean and welcoming for all visitors and staff.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidates.
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care, sanitation procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers is advantageous.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures ensures safe use of cleaning products at all times.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling demonstrates physical capability necessary for the role.
