RATE OF PAY: Per SMESPA Contract
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma
-
Ability to get CDL, C, B with P,S and Air Brake Michigan License. Training Available

Must pass DOT physical and drug screen

Must pass State and FBI Criminal Background Check

Ability to communicate well with school age children

Ability to maintain discipline

Ability to meet all qualifications, essential skills and responsibilities as listed below
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Drive a school bus safely in accordance with time schedules; transporting students to and from assigned bus stops, a variety of school sites and on field trips as assigned.
2. Exercise good judgment and use extreme caution while operating a school bus
3. Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
4. Perform other related duties as assigned
5. Must be physically, mentally and emotionally qualified to operate a school bus and evacuate children from a school bus in the event of an emergency
6. Sufficient strength and agility; lift the hood to inspect the engine compartment, clean the windshield and carry ill or physically impaired children
7. Excellent hearing and vision capabilities
8. Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
9. Other tasks requiring varying degrees of lifting, pulling, bending and carrying heavy objects
