Duties
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries or demos
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision and integrity
- Upsell products by recommending complementary items and promoting current promotions
- Maintain clean and organized checkout counters, merchandising displays, and stock areas
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure products are well-presented for customers
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns professionally and courteously
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders via phone
- Support sales goals through proactive engagement and product knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for cash handling and transactions
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Experience supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately during transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and product demos enhances your effectiveness
