Position Summary
The Construction Laborer supports daily field operations on grading, roadway, and bridge projects. This role involves physical work, operating basic tools, assisting equipment operators, and helping keep projects on schedule and safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties on construction sites (digging, shoveling, grading, lifting)
- Assist with installation of drainage, pipe, erosion control, and guardrail
- Load/unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Support heavy equipment operators and follow direction from foreman
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices (cones, signs, barrels)
- Clean and prepare job sites before, during, and after work
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Work in various weather conditions and terrain
Qualifications
- Construction experience preferred (not required – willing to train)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lift 50+ lbs, stand long hours)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew
Work Conditions
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Long hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends
- Travel to various job sites across the region
