Position Overview
Waterview Health & Rehab is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Unit Manager for our skilled nursing unit.
This role is ideal for a strong clinician who is organized, team-oriented, and confident in overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, and driving clinical outcomes in a fast-paced skilled setting.
You will play a key role in coordinating care, leading your team, and maintaining clinical and regulatory standards while taking ownership of unit-level performance.

- Weekend availability as needed
- Participation in on-call rotation required

What We’re Looking For
- Active LPN or RN license in the state of Virginia (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (skilled nursing/LTC preferred)
- Previous leadership or Unit Manager experience preferred
- Experience leading a skilled nursing unit or comparable clinical setting strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of clinical practices, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements (CMS, state, infection control)
- Experience with EMR systems (PointClickCare preferred)
- Ability to lead, coach, and support nursing staff
- Strong organizational, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the skilled nursing unit
- Supervise and support nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care delivery
- Coordinate and evaluate resident care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team
- Monitor resident conditions and ensure timely interventions
- Ensure compliance with all clinical, regulatory, and documentation standards
- Support staff development through coaching, education, and performance feedback
- Participate in care conferences and family communication
- Assist with staffing coordination and unit workflow management
- Contribute to quality improvement, infection control, and survey readiness
Performance & Outcomes Ownership
- Monitor and improve key clinical indicators including falls, rehospitalizations, infection rates, and documentation compliance
- Participate in audits and ensure timely follow-up and corrective action
- Support adherence to care plan accuracy and regulatory compliance standards
- Collaborate with leadership on performance improvement initiatives and QAPI efforts
