Position Summary:
The CNC Department Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the CNC machining department. This includes overseeing departmental personnel, coordinating production schedules, ensuring proper equipment functionality, and maintaining quality control standards. The supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that machined castings meet the required specifications and are delivered on schedule. This position serves as a liaison between the foundry and machining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the CNC department, including machinists and operators.
· Plan, prioritize, and schedule jobs to meet production and customer delivery targets.
· Ensure all machined parts meet required specifications and quality standards.
· Oversee machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
· Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on fixture design, tool selection, and continuous process improvements.
· Develop and implement machining processes for new parts.
· Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and lean manufacturing.
· Train and mentor staff to ensure skill development and consistent performance.
· Track department KPIs, downtime, and performance metrics.
· Manage tooling inventory, supplier relations, and cost control.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of CNC machining experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of G-code programming, multi-axis CNC mills/lathes, and fixturing methods.
· Experience in machining steel castings is a plus.
· Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and shop floor documentation practices.
· Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour

Experience:
- CNC machining: 2 years (Preferred)
- leading or supervising CNC machinists or operators: 2 years (Preferred)
- G-code programming: 4 years (Preferred)
- operating or programming multi-axis CNC mills and/or lathes: 3 years (Preferred)
- CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar): 4 years (Preferred)
