Automotive Mechanic
Smothers Supercars is looking to hire an experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team.
We work on everything from 1960s-era muscle cars to late-model, performance-oriented street and street/strip vehicles. We are looking for someone who is dependable, productive, mechanically experienced, and takes pride in doing quality work.
Responsibilities
This position will primarily involve:
- Camshaft replacements and upgrades
- Cylinder head removal, installation, and upgrades
- Intake manifold and exhaust system installation
- Transmission removal and replacement
- Drivetrain repairs and performance upgrades
- General heavy mechanical and performance work
- Troubleshooting and mechanical diagnosis
- Working on both classic muscle cars and late-model performance vehicles
For the right technician, we are also willing to provide additional training in:
- Distributor setup and advance curve tuning
- Carburetor tuning
- Air/fuel ratio tuning using an oxygen sensor
- Performance engine setup and drivability tuning
Requirements
- Previous automotive mechanical experience is required
- Must be comfortable performing heavy mechanical work
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be dependable and show up ready to work
- Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week
- Must be willing to stay productive throughout the workday
- Must be able to work independently and follow instructions
- Must care about the quality of the finished product
- Must have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
Schedule
Monday through Thursday
6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
We work four 10-hour days, giving our employees a three-day weekend while maintaining a full-time workweek.
Pay & Performance
Pay is based on experience, ability, productivity, dependability, and overall performance.
The employees who consistently produce quality work, stay focused, limit unnecessary phone use and excessive breaks, show up reliably, and work hard will have the greatest opportunity to earn more.
