St. John Oral Surgery and Dental Implants is a growing practice! We are looking for a full time oral surgery assistant to join our team and be part of our vision in our new state of the art facility. Single-doctor, private practice, Board Certified Oral Surgeon. Offering competitive pay based on experience.
Must have dental assisting, surgical tech or nursing experience.
Friendly and compassionate personality with a strong work ethic and positive attitude is a must!
High energy, ability to assist standing and keep the day moving in a busy office.
X-ray certification needed.
Sedation certification or DAANCE will be rewarded.
Highly organized individual with strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon with the surgery procedures and anesthesia
- Review the schedule and prepare in advance
- Obtain medical records, health history and vital signs.
- Set up and stock rooms, greet and seat patients
- Take X-rays, CBCTs, intraoral scans.
- Maintains clinical notes and generates referral letters
- Educate patients
- Post-op calls to patients
- Maintains supply inventory
- Computer skills and answering phones on occasion
- Team player communicating with the front desk and referring offices
- Maintains infection protocols
- Protects patient information HIPPA
- Helps the doctor manage medical emergencies
