Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. Duties
- Provide comprehensive executive administrative support to attorney and legal team, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, and coordinating court dates.
- Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, and other case management systems to support case development and strategy.
- Manage legal case files with meticulous organization.
- Maintain accurate data entry records for case tracking and billing purposes while ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Support attorneys in preparing for hearings or negotiations through document drafting, proofreading, transcription, and filing in compliance with court procedures.
- Coordinate communication between clients, courts, vendors, and internal teams with professional phone etiquette and organizational skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a legal secretary or paralegal within a busy law office environment.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures across multiple practice areas such defense civil law.
- Proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with iManage or similar document management systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with clarity and professionalism.
- Exceptional proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy in all legal materials.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Knowledge of administrative tasks including data entry, filing systems (both electronic and physical), phone etiquette, and clerical support functions.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating initiative and teamwork.
