Overview
We are seeking an experienced Garage Door Installer to join our construction and home improvement team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of installation, fabrication, and construction, with a focus on garage doors and related systems. This role involves working on-site to install, repair, and upgrade garage doors, ensuring safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Candidates should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. 3 years prior experience in construction, carpentry, or remodeling is required. This position is paid piecemeal according to the tasks involved.
Duties
- Install and replace garage doors, including tracks, springs, cables, and openers
- Perform glass installation and fixture setup as part of door assembly or upgrades or repair work when necessary
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to complete installations efficiently
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for precise work
- Conduct metal stud framing and trim carpentry to prepare openings for door installation
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure weatherproofing and finish quality
- Handle heavy lifting of doors and components safely during installation or repairs
- Perform locksmithing tasks such as lock replacement or security upgrades on garage doors
- Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects involving electrical wiring or electrical experience as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Skills

- Proficiency with hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches) and power tools (drills, saws)
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and work on elevated surfaces when required
- Understanding of blueprint reading and technical diagrams
- Mechanical knowledge related to garage door systems and hardware components
- Construction site experience with framing, carpentry (including trim carpentry), and remodeling projects
- Electrical experience for fixture installation or wiring upgrades is a plus
- Knowledge of locksmithing principles for lock replacement or security enhancements
- Handyman experience with general repairs around residential or commercial properties
