Brunswick Grooming Spa is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Professional Pet Groomer to add to our busy and growing business. Ideal candidates must be knowledgeable about all breeds and cuts, and able to handle all pets in a safe and humane manner. You will also be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction. Reliability and a good work ethic are essential!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Project a friendly and positive attitude - greet customers and pets with a smile.
· Promote excellent customer service –work with customers directly and listen to their requests.
· Adept at grooming various size pets and breeds.
· Bathe, dry, brush, apply specific shaves cuts and trims.
· Answer customer calls, schedule appointments and process invoices in a timely manner.
· Maintain accurate customer records, documenting detail of service.
· Unpack, label and stock supplies.
· Maintain the cleanliness of the grooming facility and equipment.
· Adhere to safety standards.
· Stand for extended periods of time.
· Walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
· Lift 50 pounds.
The Successful Candidate will:
· Demonstrate a professional and cheerful attitude.
· Groom and style pets per owner instructions.
· Carry out written, oral or diagram instructions.
· Demonstrate ability to work with dogs of various sizes, breeds and temperaments.
· Demonstrate knowledge of breed specific standard cuts.
· Be proficient with clippers and scissors.
· Maintain confidence around pets.
· Have great animal and people skills.
· Be reliable and punctual and able to work well with others
Qualifications and Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 2+ years of previous grooming experience.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Able to multitask and demonstrate good follow-through.
The grooming spa has no evening hours but Saturdays are required.
Compensation: Commission + Tips.
