Job Summary:
A medium level position where an employee ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, efficiency and safety standards.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Must be able to perform all the duties of an Operator I and the following (as required):
- Setup and operation of forging presses with supervision as needed
- Sanding wheel work including fine polishing, shaping, and limited sharpening
- Operating tumblers (e.g. vibratory bowls or rotary tumbler)
- Operating machine brazing (e.g. heat induction machine)
- Equipment setup with supervision as needed
- Welding (e.g. weld various product lines from trachea tubes to retractors)
- Brazing (e.g. brazing uterine sounds)
- Sanding work (e.g. facing off part for desired fit/finish)
- Bending (e.g. using brass fixture to manually bend part)
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
· Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
· Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
· Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.
· Must be able to complete paperwork accurately and legibly.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.
· At least two years of manufacturing and metal fabrication experience.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to work in noisy environments.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
· Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
