Position Overview
The Unarmed Security Officer serves as the professional face of security at assigned office building locations throughout the DFW metroplex. This role is the first point of contact for employees and visitors — responsible for access control, badge verification, CCTV monitoring, and ensuring a secure, welcoming environment at all times. The ideal candidate brings a customer-first attitude, strong situational awareness, and the professionalism to remain calm and effective under pressure. This is not just a security role — it is a customer service role with security responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will be responsible for:
Access Control & Visitor Management
- Managing access control at building entry points, verifying employee badges and processing visitor credentials in accordance with client protocols.
- Greeting all employees and visitors in a professional, courteous manner — representing both Performance One Security and the client with excellence.
- Monitoring and controlling entry and exit of personnel to ensure only authorized individuals access secured areas.
- Maintaining accurate visitor logs, issuing visitor badges, and notifying appropriate personnel upon guest arrival.
- Identifying and addressing unauthorized access attempts promptly and professionally.
CCTV & Surveillance Monitoring
- Monitoring CCTV cameras and surveillance systems to detect and respond to suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches.
- Maintaining awareness of all activity within and around the facility through active observation and camera monitoring.
- Reporting any unusual activity, equipment malfunctions, or system alerts to supervisors and client contacts in a timely manner.
- Ensuring surveillance equipment is operational and escalating maintenance issues as needed.
Patrol & Facility Security
- Serving as a visible, physical deterrent to prevent and respond to security threats.
- Patrolling assigned areas — both interior and exterior — to ensure safety, security, and compliance with facility regulations.
- Enforcing client policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for all individuals in the facility.
- Securing doors, gates, and access points at designated times per post orders.
- Responding to alarms, disturbances, or requests for assistance in a calm, efficient, and appropriate manner.
Incident Response & Reporting
- Addressing security incidents or emergencies calmly, efficiently, and in accordance with company and client protocols.
- Ensuring all security-related issues are resolved promptly, including conducting preliminary investigations when necessary.
- Communicating effectively with clients, staff, and local authorities during security events or incidents.
- Writing detailed, accurate incident reports and documenting any unusual activity or security breaches in a timely manner.
- Maintaining daily activity logs and post reports as required.
Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Valid Texas Level 2 (Non-Commissioned) Security Officer License.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional, approachable demeanor — this role interfaces with employees and visitors daily.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to assess situations quickly and respond appropriately.
- Ability to maintain a calm, composed demeanor during stressful or emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an unarmed security officer, front desk associate, concierge, or in a customer-facing role.
- Experience with access control systems, CCTV platforms, or guard management software.
- Experience working in the Fort Worth areas.
