ZAM Communications is seeking a motivated Cable Technician to join our small but dynamic team. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-voltage structured cabling systems across commercial, industrial, and government sites. Duties
- Install and troubleshoot data cables (e.g., Cat6, coax), video/audio wires, fiber optics, and security systems (cameras).
- Maintain low-voltage cabling infrastructure for various commercial, industrial, and government clients.
- Ensure all installations comply with client specifications and industry standards.
- Use handheld tools such as drills, testers, and other basic equipment for installations.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Drive to and from project sites as needed.
Experience
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn; prior experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to handle handheld tools (e.g., drills, cable testers).
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work 2-3 days per week initially, with potential for more hours as projects expand.
- Experience with low-voltage installations, fiber optics, or security systems is a plus.
- Experience with fiber optics, fire alarm systems, and access control systems.
- Preferred experience with nurse call system wiring.
