Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Coach to help lead our Girls tennis team. The ideal candidate will have experience in tennis techniques and a commitment to fostering a positive and encouraging environment at the high school level. This role works closely with the Head Coach from tryouts to end of competitive season. The role would begin in early August with try outs and practices (several times per week) and continue into the competitive season, through mid October. This is a part time seasonal role, with a one time stipend payment, paid at the end of the season. The stipend amount will be discussed during the initial interview conversation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure golf team members are prepared for competitions at the high school level.
- Assist with regular practice sessions, ensuring that all participants are engaged and motivated.
- Help to monitor the safety of all athletes during practice sessions and competitions.
- Provide constructive feedback to athletes to help them improve their performance.
- Ensure strong communication with athletes, parents and school administration.
- Assist with logistics for practices and games, as needed.
- Assist the Head Coach with athlete feedback.
- Assist the Head Coach with any compliance issues.
Experience
- Previous experience in a physical education or sports coaching environment is preferred.
- Previous experience coaching a high school tennis team is strongly preferred.
- A passion for tennis and knowledge of the sport.
- Understanding of IHSA and CPL regulations and playing rules is strongly preferred.
- Ability and willingness to be available throughout the season for all tryouts, practices and competitions.
