Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy and kinesiology and a commitment to providing exceptional client care. This role involves working closely with clients to assess their needs and deliver tailored therapeutic treatments that promote relaxation, pain relief, and overall wellness.
This is an opportunity to expand your knowledge on anatomy, physiology, and pathology and grow your expertise in the healthcare side of massage therapy. We work with people from all walks of life- from professional and recreational athletes to people with disabilities, injuries, and accidents looking to manage or prevent their pain. You will receive unique opportunities to learn in depth how the different systems of the body work to impact pain and learn how to treat the body as whole by utilizing your knowledge and the expertise of other healthcare professionals in our network. You will not be pressured to act as a salesperson or obtain long term regulars. You are here to provide effective pain relief and only recommend add-ons and long-term care for clients who need and are seeking such.
Hiring for Monday and Friday afternoons from 2pm-6pm with room to expand to more weekday afternoons over time.
*Clients will be screened before coming to you and assistance will be available to help navigate any unfamiliar situations/conditions and apply effective treatment
Other things to know
-Training is required and will be at a different pay rate. Training times are flexible and will be made around your schedule. Amount of training will be dependent on therapist's skill level.
-The technieque is highly advanced. Therapist should either have advanced modality training or be quick to learn. Training is extensive and without advanced education, expect to take multiple months before seeing clients.
-Clientele is primarily upscale and therapist presentation is expected to align as such.
-Paid CEUs available with terms.
-Benefits are not currently available as this is a new company, but benefits will be added on as the company grows.
-No restrictions on time off.
-PTO available after 1 year
-Massage trade available between employees.
Responsibilities
- Train in and practice advanced medical massage tailored to medical, injury, rehabilitative, preventative, and pain management cases.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine individual needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Familiarize signs and symptoms that require outside referrals and determination of which specialists to refer to.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively target areas of tension and discomfort.
- Learn nerve impingement testing, postural and movement assessments.
- Familiarize yourself with corrective exercises (training and guidance will be provided)
- Maintain accurate records of treatments provided and progress made by clients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in occupational health settings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide follow-up emails to clients.
- Educate clients on self-care techniques and the benefits of regular massage therapy for overall health.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the treatment area, ensuring a safe environment for clients.
Qualifications
- Valid massage therapy license or certification in accordance with state regulations.
- Liability insurance
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy relevant to massage therapy practices.
- Experience in pain management techniques and familiarity with various modalities is preferred.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about their needs and preferences.
- Previous experience in a pain management or occupational health environment is a plus.
- Ability to work Monday and Friday afternoons
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
