JOB
Manage and coordinate environmental and wildlife research efforts. Provide scientific expertise and technical assistance to Director, NSB Mayor and administration, scientific community and the general public.

Serve as liaison with governmental, regulatory agencies (state and federal), and etc.
Prepare correspondence and reports on behalf of the Director and department.
Provide scientific advice to North Slope Borough personnel as appropriate.
Manage and coordinate environmental and wildlife research efforts.
Represent the North Slope Borough in matters concerning the environment and wildlife with state and federal agencies and industrial organizations.
Work in conjunction with North Slope Borough departments to assess environmental changes associated with resource development.
Review and provide comments on technical documents for the North Slope Borough regarding environmental concerns and industrial impacts.
Coordinate activities with and utilize resources of advisory bodies and consultative committees as appropriate.
Prepare and assist in preparing grant proposals for outside funding opportunities.
Manage contracts with cooperating scientists.
Perform other duties assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Doctoral Degree in Field of biological science;
Ten years supervisory work experience;
Ten years work experience in management and analysis of environmental and/or wildlife research;
Ten years work experience in conducting and managing of "arctic" environmental and wildlife research.
