About Metabolic Psychiatry Labs
Metabolic Psychiatry Labs (MPL) is pioneering a new approach to mental health by targeting its metabolic roots. We provide specialized psychiatric care to patients with Serious Mental Illness, integrating evidence-based psychiatric treatment with metabolic medicine — including ketogenic dietary therapies, metabolic biomarker analysis, and digital interventions — for conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, treatment-resistant psychosis, and obesity.
Our treatment model is grounded in emerging evidence connecting metabolic dysfunction to psychiatric disease and was developed out of Stanford. We apply structured interventions — nutritional, pharmacologic, and behavioral — within a longitudinal care framework, and we are building a patient- and provider-facing application to bring these therapies directly to those who need them most.
Position Overview
As our Intake Coordinator, you'll be the first point of contact for callers and visitors — often the very first impression someone has of our company. You'll manage inbound calls, gather and enter intake information accurately, and route people to the right next step. This is a high-visibility, high-trust role at a small company: you'll wear multiple hats, help shape our intake process from the ground up, and work closely with leadership as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and triage a high volume of inbound phone calls in a professional, friendly, and calm manner
- Collect and accurately enter caller/client information into our intake system or CRM
- Ask structured qualifying questions to determine needs and route calls/leads appropriately
- Schedule appointments, consultations, or follow-ups as needed
- Communicate clearly with callers about next steps, timelines, and what to expect
- Maintain organized, up-to-date records of all intake interactions
- Flag urgent or sensitive calls for immediate escalation
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in the intake process and suggest improvements
- Support administrative tasks (email correspondence, data cleanup, follow-up reminders)
- Collaborate with sales, operations, or clinical/service teams (as applicable) to ensure smooth handoffs
What We're Looking For
- Experience at an early-stage startup or small business
- Familiarity with CRM or intake software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, or industry-specific tools)
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities
- Prior experience in healthcare
- Working Style
- Adaptable problem solver who proactively finds solutions to improve clinical efficiency
- Self-directed and organized: able to manage a longitudinal patient panel and asynchronous communication in a fully remote setting
- Comfortable operating in an early-stage, evolving organization with ambiguity where processes are still being built
- You care about doing this work well and contributing to something larger than a typical clinical job
Compensation
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Work Location: Remote
