JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR-1st Shift

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute on priorities and production plans provided by operations management.
- Manage, coach, mentor, and support production associates on shift. Identify training needs and coordinate skill development.
- Execute and maintain Standardized Manufacturing instructions and Control plans.
- Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking.
- Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area.
- Generate daily reports for operations.
- Monitor and ensure safety standards are met by all employees. Supervises employees in order to meet production schedules and maintain optimum efficiencies & man hour utilization. Completes all associated production reports.
- Attend production meetings and supports the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of pressroom activities to fulfill sales orders with quality parts on time.
- Coordinate support functions and remove obstacles to ensure continuous press or welding operations.
- Audit work and ensure corrective actions are followed through to completion.
- Organize and prioritize all pressroom employee activity.
- Responsible for the quality of all products produced in the pressroom and coordinate the resources available to resolve quality problems.
- Study production efficiency reports and implement corrective actions as needed to optimize output; will also share performance reports with department employees on a daily/weekly basis to promote employee participation in optimization efforts.
- Work directly with Tool Room to troubleshoot tooling problems and prioritize tool service when required to minimize press downtime or meet schedule requirements.
- Understands MRP or ERP system and be able to train and monitor employees to ensure all relevant production and timekeeping data is entered on time and correctly.
- Ensure effective employee relations and resolve employee issues through conflict resolution.
- Assist in employment decisions (hiring, discipline, terminations).
- Prepare and conduct constructive employee performance evaluations.
- Performs accident investigations, prepares reports and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Communications with all departments on work area related issues.
- Responsible for completing other assignments as directed by the Manufacturing Manager.
- Availability to work as needed and including weekends as required. Expect a minimum of 8.5-to-9-hour workday, excluding lunch.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a high-speed or fabrication manufacturing environment.
- Stamping background in metal stamping or forming production preferred.
- Must have Laser background in metal fabrication using lasers, turrets, CNC brake presses and welding.
- Five (5) years of factory related experience in the metal working industry, managing, or supervising teams of people in a production environment.
- Experience in welding.
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles
- Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
- Able to interpret blueprints and related specifications.
