St. Bernard School, a Catholic elementary school in Enfield, CT, has an opening for a full-time Middle School Religion Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position requires a dynamic teacher that can interact with and support the learning of Middle School students.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops skills, and a love of learning.
Additionally, the candidate must be able to:
Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Use a variety of instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
Encourage children to develop self-help skills and independence.
Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school’s behavioral policies.
Maintain positive communication with families through emails and conferences.
Attend regular staff meetings and professional development.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
Assist students who may need additional support.
Be a visible presence in the school/parish community and be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Teacher certification and/or experience related to the field.
Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
