Join a joyful and dedicated team of educators! Sunrise Montessori School is a growing, vibrant learning community serving children ages 3 through 6th grade. We are currently seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Early Childhood (3–6 years) classrooms.
This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and are interested in the Montessori approach to education.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Teacher works under the guidance of the Lead Teacher to help create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment. This role supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child, while encouraging independence, self-direction, and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Lead Teacher with classroom activities and routines
- Assist children with transitions (e.g., getting ready for outside, handwashing, lining up)
- Supervise children during lunch and recess
- Guide children in making positive choices and building independence
- Light classroom cleaning and organizing duties
- Collaborate positively with co-teachers and school staff
- Embrace and support the Montessori philosophy and Sunrise Montessori mission

Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check
- CPR/First Aid Certification (can be completed upon hire)
- Physically able to work with preschool-aged children (able to lift up to 40 lbs)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Montessori experience a plus, but not required)
