Construction Estimator
Overview:
Join our team as a Construction Estimator and play a vital role in our construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, managing budgets, and ensuring cost control throughout the construction process. SPECIFIC DUTIES:
o Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and estimate costs
o Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction paving projects.
o Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purpose
o Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid to create comprehensive project estimates
o Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals
o Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project requirements and conditions
o Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings during the estimating process
o Prepare and present cost estimates to clients, highlighting key project details.
o Participate in negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and contract terms
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field (preferred but not required)
o Experience as an Estimator in the civil construction industry (asphalt paving and concrete) but willing to train
o Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques
o Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid
o Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs
o Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
o Strong organizational and time management skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
