Duties
- Safely operate various vehicles including commercial trucks and automobiles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals at multiple destinations throughout your shift.
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise or equipment using heavy lifting techniques when necessary, adhering to safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients upon delivery, addressing questions and building rapport to foster customer loyalty.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging retail store experience and sales skills to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records while organizing daily schedules for maximum efficiency.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure automobile transportation safety standards are met at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including driving large vehicles or trucks in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Strong math skills for handling pricing calculations, route planning, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices.
- Prior retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation.
- Demonstrated organizational skills for managing routes, schedules, and documentation efficiently.
