Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our primary care. Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and medical history collection to ensure comprehensive clinical assessments.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures and medication administration within scope of practice.
- familiar with EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records) such as ECW (eclinicalworks) management, ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and processing, along with ICD coding for diagnoses to facilitate billing and record accuracy.
- Conduct clinical procedures including anatomy-based assessments, physiology evaluations, and basic emergency medicine interventions in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Manage medical documentation meticulously, including medical records, reports, and notes aligned with HIPAA compliance standards.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, coordinating appointments, and supporting patient education on medications and treatment plans.
- Assist in clinic operations by managing appointments, scheduling follow-ups, and maintaining a clean and organized medical office environment.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proven experience in medical office settings with knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Hands-on experience in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics preferred; inpatient or Level I/II trauma center experience highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, X-ray assistance (if certified), vital signs measurement, and intake assessments confidently.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards and electronic health records management practices.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine units or Geriatrics clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience supporting hospital or outpatient settings with internal medicine or surgical procedures is a plus; inpatient experience is highly valued.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
