We are seeking dependable Independent Contractors to provide overnight residential observation and reporting services at transitional housing properties located throughout San Joaquin County.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are reliable, observant, professional, and comfortable working independently during overnight hours. Contractors play an important role in supporting safe, respectful, and stable residential environments through observation, documentation, and reporting.
Opportunity Details
Classification: Independent Contractor (1099)
Service Area: Various residential properties throughout San Joaquin County, California
Available Service Assignments:
- 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
- 12:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Compensation: Fixed fee per completed and accepted service assignment. Compensation details will be discussed during the engagement process.
Service assignments are offered on an as-needed basis. Contractors determine their own availability and may accept or decline assignment opportunities as offered.
Scope of Services
Contractors who accept service assignments may:
- Provide overnight observation services at assigned residences.
- Remain onsite, alert, and available throughout accepted assignments.
- Observe common areas and general property conditions.
- Conduct periodic property and safety checks.
- Document objective observations and notable events.
- Complete required observation logs and incident reports.
- Report emergencies, safety concerns, and significant incidents to appropriate parties.
- Follow site-specific instructions and reporting procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
This role is limited to observation, documentation, and emergency notification and does not include caregiving or clinical services.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification prior to providing services.
- Reliable transportation and cell phone with voice and text capability.
- Ability to remain awake, attentive, and professional during overnight assignments.
- Ability to complete written documentation accurately and timely.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in residential programs, shelters, housing programs, hospitality, customer service, security, property monitoring, or related environments.
- Experience completing incident reports and objective documentation.
- Training in de-escalation, crisis response, or related fields.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Comfort working independently for extended periods.
Independent Contractor Relationship
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Contractors operate as independent businesses and are responsible for their own taxes and business obligations.
Final engagement is contingent upon successful completion of required background screening and onboarding requirements.
Working Environment
