As a Custodian, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks with enthusiasm and attention to detail, supporting the smooth operation of our facilities every day.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks, following all chemical handling safety procedures
- Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain pristine floor conditions and ensure proper floor care
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of cleaning supplies, furniture, and equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Maintain cleanliness standards by regularly inspecting facilities for cleanliness issues and addressing them promptly
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning or maintenance activities
- Support facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for resolution
Requirements
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and proper use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely with understanding of chemical handling safety procedures
- Experience with floor buffing, floor care, and general custodial maintenance preferred
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to safety protocol adherence at all times in accordance with workplace safety guidelines
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards team members and facility users
- Prior experience in residential painting or industrial cleaning is a plus but not required
