Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of sushi ingredients, including slicing fish and vegetables using proper knife skills
- Support the culinary team with meal assembly and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety protocols
- Handle food products safely during storage, preparation, and packaging processes
- Deliver orders promptly and courteously to customers, ensuring accuracy and excellent service
- Help with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and freshness
- Support catering events or special orders as needed to enhance customer satisfaction
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is advantageous but not required; training will be provided
- Restaurant or food service experience demonstrating familiarity with food handling and customer interaction is preferred
- Culinary experience or kitchen background that includes food preparation, cooking, and knife skills will be highly valued
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is essential
- Experience in food industry roles such as catering or serving helps ensure smooth coordination during busy periods
- Strong organizational skills for meal preparation and delivery logistics are important for success in this role
