Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Domestic Cook / Light Housekeeper to join our team. This could be a live in (with separate living quarters) or reside outside of resident In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals, maintaining a clean and organized living environment, and providing exceptional household support. Your proactive approach to cleaning, sanitation, and household management will ensure a comfortable, safe, and welcoming home. This position offers an engaging opportunity for someone who enjoys culinary arts and household upkeep, with a focus on delivering high standards of cleanliness and customer service. Pay will be discussed during interview with consideration if live in housekeeper/cook or not.
Duties
- Prepare daily meals that meet dietary preferences and nutritional guidelines, ensuring food safety and presentation standards are maintained.
- Implement cleaning and sanitation procedures to uphold hygiene standards across all areas of the residence.
- Perform residential cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, floor cleaning, carpet care, surface sanitization, and outdoor area maintenance.
- Manage laundry duties such as washing, drying, folding, and organizing clothing and linens efficiently.
- Operate cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools with proper manual handling techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, polishing, and specialized floor care methods to preserve their appearance and safety.
- Communicate effectively with household members or clients to understand specific needs or preferences related to housekeeping routines or meal planning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cooking with knowledge of various culinary techniques and food safety standards.
- Strong background in cleaning and sanitation procedures within residential or janitorial settings.
- Familiarity with cleaning detergents, disinfectants, and appropriate use of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively throughout the day.
- Experience in residential housekeeping or light housekeeper roles with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Outdoor work experience is a plus for maintaining exterior areas or gardens as needed.
- Knowledge of carpet cleaning methods and floor care techniques to ensure surfaces are well-maintained.
