If you are a talented plastics setup professional who is tired of wrestling with broken-down, ancient presses and dealing with endless corporate bureaucracy, this specialized manufacturing firm represents your ultimate career move. Operating as a financially rock-solid, debt-free, and ISO-certified custom molder, this industry pioneer has experienced sustained success across highly diversified market sectors. Because they are financially robust, they do not patch up failing machinery; they heavily reinvest in the plant, meaning 90% of the advanced production equipment on the floor is less than 4 years old.
This high-autonomy, high-ownership technical role is designed for a floor-first expert who spends 97% of their time actively engaged with state-of-the-art processing systems. You will completely escape the corporate matrix here—the operations leadership team will know you by name, respect your diagnostic insight, and back you with the modern tooling needed to win. If you want to run a clean, well-ventilated department where your technical talents are genuinely prioritized and the average employee tenure exceeds 10 years, this is the perfect shop home for your craft.
- Execute high-precision machine setups and startups, including hanging heavy tools, dial-in of technical processing parameters, and running initial samples for zero-defect quality approval.
- Serve as the primary technical authority and floor leader for the 3rd shift, troubleshooting complex molding variations and providing direction to an elite, lean production team.
- Manage end-to-end material logistics, ensuring the precise mixing of resins, loading of hoppers, and optimization of grinding equipment to guarantee uninterrupted production flow.
- Maintain strict ISO quality standards through routine machine inspections and precise cosmetic/dimensional part quality audits.
- Lead by example as an active, working lead, jumping in to provide operator support and process guidance wherever needed to secure the shift's manufacturing metrics.
- Custom shop pedigree featuring 2 or more years of verifiable experience setting up and starting up injection molding presses within a custom molding or fast-paced job shop environment (Note: Extrusion-only experience is not a match).
- Resin optimization depth with concrete technical familiarity regarding the shrink rates, melt temperatures, and behavior of a wide variety of engineering-grade polymers.
- Floor-first mindset showing a strong preference for hands-on technical troubleshooting, parameter adjustments, and mechanical execution over administrative desk work.
- Autonomous problem-solving capability with the absolute confidence to navigate a press controller, clear complex process alarms, and optimize parts independently as the shift's primary subject matter expert.
- Rock-solid career stability showing a reliable professional work history, excellent daily punctuality, and local residency within a 45-minute drive of the manufacturing facility.
