Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will safely administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse while providing direct resident care and supporting the physical and emotional well-being of our residents. Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately and safely in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and state regulations.
- Observe residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in condition, promptly reporting concerns to the licensed nurse.
- Accurately document medication administration and resident observations in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR).
- Prepare, distribute, and account for medications following all medication administration protocols.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility, as needed.
- Measure, monitor, and accurately document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Safely transfer and reposition residents using proper body mechanics and approved lifting equipment.
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care while promoting dignity, independence, and respect.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Follow infection prevention, medication safety, HIPAA confidentiality, and facility policies at all times.
- Maintain medication carts, medication rooms, and treatment areas in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
- Support licensed nursing staff in delivering high-quality resident care.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in the State of Texas.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Texas preferred or required based on state regulations.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, rehabilitation, or nursing home setting preferred.
- Experience administering medications in a long-term care environment is highly desirable.
- Experience working with geriatric residents is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as PointClickCare (PCC) is a plus.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures, infection control, safe medication practices, and resident safety standards.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Available Shifts
We are currently hiring Certified Medication Aides (CMAs) for the following shifts:
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (+$2.00/hour shift differential)
Shift Differential: Eligible employees working the evening or night shift will receive additional hourly pay based on their assigned shift.
