Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and physical education.
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct child development assessments to tailor instruction and support individual learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Manage classroom routines effectively, including lesson planning, behavior management, and maintaining organized learning spaces.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and participate in ongoing professional development focused on childhood development instruction and classroom management.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom experience.
- Knowledge of curriculum development techniques across early childhood education disciplines such as literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering a nurturing environment conducive to learning.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners effectively.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and standardized testing procedures for young learners.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that promote cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development aligned with childhood development principles.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.
- Experience working with diverse student populations including toddlers and children requiring additional support through special education or early intervention services.
