Summary:
The Maintenance Technician 2 performs a wide range of maintenance tasks independently, ensuring that ACHR facilities and equipment remain in excellent condition. The Technician 2 role requires strong working knowledge of facility systems, a proactive approach to repairs, and consistent adherence to agency standards and safety regulations.
Primary duties:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs independently on facility equipment, structures, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related building systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed maintenance work and inventory usage.
- Perform routine exterior grounds maintenance and safety inspections.
- Coordinate materials, tools, and work schedules to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and needs clearly with Maintenance Supervisor and team.
- Assist with training and mentoring entry-level staff as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead specific maintenance projects or initiatives as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Relevant certification (HVAC, EPA Section 608, basic electrical or plumbing) or an Associate’s degree in a related field (Building Maintenance, Facilities Technology)
Experience:
- 3-5 years of maintenance experience
