Position Title: Test Proctor
Department: Student Affairs – Testing center
Employment type: Part-time wage, 29 hours or less per week, non-benefitted
Position Purpose: Test Proctors in the PVCC Testing Center and Professional Testing and Certification Center (PTCC} maintain confidentiality and security of all test materials and remain vigilant to the prevention of academic dishonesty. Exhibit excellent customer service skills, working with both students, faculty, staff and community members. Assist students with special accommodations and technology. Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude even under stressful conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer a variety of tests: online and paper tests for PVCC and non-PVCC students, credit-by-exams, licensures, and certifications.
- Communicate with faculty and staff to ensure optimum testing conditions.
- Maintain integrity of testing information.
- Follow Testing Center guidelines and procedures accurately.
- Handle day-to-day operations (answer phone calls, manage and maintain emails, and organize incoming material) in a kind and professional manner.
- Foster a warm and welcoming but also watchful environment to deter students from academic dishonesty.
- Attend training sessions as needed.
