The ideal candidate is confident working independently while collaborating closely with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nuclear medicine technologists, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff to provide exceptional patient care.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for independently performing exercise cardiac stress testing, continuous cardiac monitoring, and peripheral IV insertion for PET myocardial perfusion imaging. The successful candidate must possess excellent clinical judgment, strong technical skills, and the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac abnormalities during testing.
Candidates without significant experience performing Bruce protocol treadmill stress tests and independently starting peripheral IVs in a cardiology or diagnostic imaging environment will not be considered.

- Continuously monitor EKG, telemetry, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rate, and patient symptoms throughout stress testing.
- Recognize and promptly communicate arrhythmias, ischemic ECG changes, abnormal hemodynamic responses, and other clinically significant findings to the supervising physician.
- Assist physicians and nuclear medicine technologists during PET and SPECT imaging procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to stress testing protocols, patient safety standards, radiation safety (ALARA), and infection prevention guidelines.
- Respond appropriately during emergent situations following ACLS and practice protocols.
