Assistant teacher for 3K & UPK Needed (South Brooklyn)

JOB DESCRIPTION: 3K & UPK LEAD TEACHER
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Lead Teacher with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate and Creative Curriculum aligned weekly unit plans and daily lesson plans.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
• Collaboratively work with the Lead Teacher.
• Assist the Lead Teacher with promoting an understanding of growth and development of the child; effectively communicate with parents, verbally and in writing, throughout the year.
• Maintain an organized classroom and take responsibility for the upkeep of the classroom's educational equipment, materials, and appearance.
ASSISTANT TEACHERS Qualifications
Associate (Preferred)
Early Childhood Education: 1 year (Preferred),Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
CPR Certification (Preferred), Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
OTHER Required Qualifications:
Recent Medical
DOI Fingerprinting
Child Abuse and Violence Prevention Certification
Infectious Disease Certificate
SCR

About Our Program:
Exploration and discovery are used to learn, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Our program concentrates on developing the "whole child" by building communication, social/emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. Children are encouraged to engage in "hands-on" experiences that lead to learning through discovery, recognition of logical consequences, organization of thoughts, facts, and problem-solving. We utilize the Creative Curriculum framework which supports our belief that children learn best when the classroom is child-centered with a focus on interest areas.
