Join our team at Silver Treasures Assisted Living facility for seniors. We are looking for an experienced Cook to ensure our residents have 3 nutritious meals a day. We need someone with energy, a strong attention to detail & a friendly, outgoing personality. In this role, you must be able to maintain all health & sanitation standards, while prepping & cooking meals. You'll have the help of a dishwasher/assistant, so experience supervising others is a plus. Experience with ordering/stocking supplies is also a plus. The job is a full-time role, working 3 or 4 days per week, for a 12-hour shift, from approx. 6am until 6pm, with a break.
Duties
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations, while preparing 3 meals a day from menu plan
- Assist in inventory management, restock supplies & notify Head Chef of low stock levels
- We're a small facility, where Chef & Cook help serve residents, & work with Kitchen Assistants to set up & clear when needed
- A friendly personality is required; our Cook is a vital team member & is expected to interact with staff, residents throughout the day
- Oversee dishwasher/kitchen assistant to ensure that all washing & cleaning is done properly & all safety & cleanliness standards are met
- Kind & caring attitude towards the elderly, & the willingness to support our collective team efforts to provide a pleasant living environment for approx. 30+ residents
Experience
- Previous experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or senior care facility environment is preferred
- Familiarity with basic kitchen operations such as cleaning procedures and food handling practices is required
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to follow instructions diligently is crucial, especially with regards to food allergies & dietary restrictions of our residents

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

- The hours for this job are from 6am until 6pm, with a 30-60 minute break around 1 or 2pm. Can you do this schedule?
- Would you be comfortable interacting with our elderly residents as part of your responsibilities?
- This job requires a FL Level 2 Background check, with AHCA. If you are not already in the system (ex: worked recently in healthcare or senior facilities) you will need to go through the process in order to be considered for a position here . The fee to get registered in the AHCA system is $79 & must be paid with a credit/debit card. You would then be in that system for 5 years , so that would be good for use at other senior facilities as well. If you are not already in the AHCA system, would you be able to get pay this amount to get registered & fingerprinted when you come for an interview?
