Join our dedicated mental health team as a Mental Health Therapist, where you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychological support and therapeutic services to diverse populations. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake interviews and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychosocial rehabilitation, case management, peer support, and supportive living
- Experience with TennCare and behavioral health services.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety and stability.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in medical records while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, medical professionals, and educators, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients with disabilities or developmental disorders such as autism or chronic pain conditions.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to enhance treatment approaches and contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
- Participate in policy development and quality improvement activites.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral management, and addiction counseling.
- Support agency credentialing and contracting effort.
- Expertise in crisis intervention strategies and crisis management procedures; ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Experience delivering telehealth services using secure platforms; comfortable adapting therapy methods for virtual environments.
- Excellent communication skills for conducting intake assessments, patient education, and collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder; knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
