Essential Responsibilities
✔ Maintain and care for lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, flowers, and other outdoor landscaping features.
✔ Plant, water, prune, and maintain landscaping according to seasonal needs.
✔ Operate lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
✔ Clean, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment after use.
✔ Follow established safety procedures and proper equipment handling practices.
✔ Work independently while managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks.
✔ Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach with residents, visitors, and team members.
✔ Support and adhere to Resthaven policies, procedures, and mission.
✔ Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
✔ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, and safety guidelines.
✔ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
✔ Basic computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Office applications.
✔ Ability to work effectively with older adults while demonstrating compassion, dignity, and respect.
✔ Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
✔ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education, Training, Experience
✔ High school diploma or GED preferred.
✔ One year of landscaping, groundskeeping, lawn care, or related experience preferred.
Physical Demands
✔ Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, push, pull, and work outdoors for extended periods.
✔ Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and work from ladders when needed.
✔ Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
✔ Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
✔ Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
✔ Primarily outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures.
✔ May occasionally work in wet, dark, or damp conditions.
✔ Moderate noise levels are typical when operating equipment.
